Kāhui whetu o Te Arawa

Te Whare Pukenga o Rehua Ariki is a star constellation

of special significance to Te Arawa.

The primacy of this constellation pays homage to the supreme being, god Rehua Ariki who resides in Te Toi o ngā Rangi. Te Arawa have many unique kāhui whetu. Some of these kāhui whetu are venerated in the titonga ‘He Pōhuatau’ nā irirangi Tiakiawa.
