‘Here & Now’ Group Exhibition

10th April to 29th May. – ‘here & now’ is an existential exhibition that challenges participating artists to reflect on 2020 and contemplate 2021 and onwards. It is thinking about the present and the gift of surviving 2020. It’s about our changing world and being present in our day to day lives: What are your individual experiences/thoughts here & now that you want to share through your artwork? A group exhibition curated by The Arts Village.

After School Art with Lani Eyles

Ukulele Classes with Jane Solly

Term Two: Wednesdays/Thursdays Weekly from 5th/6th May to 7th/8th July, Various Times, – $130 for the 10 week term ($110 early bird rate). Come and enjoy stress free, fun and easy Ukulele classes with experienced tutor Jane Solly. Classes for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced levels available.

Community Meeting: Markets.

Wednesday 12th May, 4.30pm to 5.30pm, Are you interested in seeing regular arts markets held at The Arts Village again? There has been some interest in partnering with us to make this happen and we are keen to hear more from interested community members. All welcome to join us for this hui.

Maxine Thompson Pastel Workshop ‘Animals in the Landscape’

Village Community & Family Event

Saturday 15th May, 10am- 12:30pm– Swing by The Arts Village on May 15th to meet and mingle with local arts and community groups & organisations. May 15th is also the International Day of Families and we will have loads for local whānau to check out and enjoy including live music and free activities. Totally free to attend and we have lots to see and do with free kids art activities and loads of awesome organisations on board. The event is open from 10am until 12.30pm with plenty to see, hear and do and we would for you to come by!

Online Art Class: Draw & Paint an Illustrated Arts Village

Saturday 29th May, 2pm to 3.30pm, Join us for an online art class learning how to draw and paint an illustration of The Arts Village. This workshop costs $5+, with all proceeds going to raise funding for our mahi in the community.

Materials required: paper, drawing tools (pencil, sharpener, eraser), rule, and coloured pencils (Optional: Watercolour Pencils & brush)
