Get Up and (Van) Gogh Artspiration for Adults with Too damn lippy

Wednesday 9 am – 10am

Every week I put together creatively engaging exercises with simple materials, which will sometimes push you outside of your comfort zone, but should no matter what allow your brain to become deeply absorbed into a state of mindfulness, and ultimately leaving you feeling a sense of calm, even joyfulness, by the end of the session.
Attendance is on a casual basis, so there is no need for a whole term of commitment, just come as you are able.

Join us for Big Thrift Energy, a creative adventure where we’ll hit the op shops in search of weird, wonderful, and unexpected finds. From retro treasures and funky fabrics to forgotten frames and curious objects, you’ll hunt for inspiration before bringing your discoveries back to The Arts Village.

Then the real fun begins! Using your thrifted treasures, you’ll transform second-hand finds into something completely new through art, creativity, and imagination. Paint it, remake it, reimagine it, or turn it into something nobody has ever seen before.

Big Thrift Energy is all about creativity, sustainability, and seeing possibilities where others see junk. It’s the perfect chance to explore, experiment, get a little messy, and create something uniquely yours.

Zero waste pattern design

Calling all Rotorua current or aspiring sewists!
Step into the world of zero waste fashion with Emma La Rocca of Emroce Zero Waste Swimwear for a fun sewing workshop.
We welcome beginners to experienced sewists to learn zero-waste pattern-making and marker-making techniques to integrate at home and ultimately reduce fabric waste.
Through paper folding exercises and tessellating shapes, Emma will guide you through simple steps to create your very own zero waste pattern.
