Holiday Arts Academy
Get ready for two weeks of creativity at our Holiday Arts Academy (HAA)! Designed for young artists aged 8–12, this fun-filled programme is all about trying new things, building skills, and creating art to be proud of. Kids can make new friends, reconnect with old ones, and explore a wide range of materials in a vibrant, supportive space. With a new theme every day, no two sessions are the same—just loads of creative energy and something for everyone.

Join us in Studio 2 of the arts village Tuesday to Friday 9am – 3pm
Week One: Tuesday 7th – Thursday 9th JULY
- Tuesday: Tiny Worlds, Big Stories – Imagination and story telling creating tiny worlds
- Wednesday: Te Ao whetū – Matariki World Making – A collaborative day of building, creating, imagining inspired by Matariki
- Thursday: Impossible Creatures Lab – Creativity, character and problem solving.
Week Two: Tuesday 14th – Friday 17th JULY
- Tuesday: Print Lab – Become a mini printmaker, layering textures, colours and shapes
- Wednesday: Paw-casso – Guided pet portrait drawing, paint your favourite furry, feathery, scaly (or imaginary) pet. Bring in a photo of your pet
- Thursday: Trophie Makers workshop – A day for creators to design outrageous trophies celebrating weird, wonderful and awesome things.
- Friday: The Great Mural Project – Go LARGE. Tamariki work together to create a giant mural masterpiece.
All art materials are provided.
Please remember to bring along a packed lunch, water bottle and hat. Old clothes are advised as things can get messy!
Lunch can be purchased at the onsite Piccalo cafe each morning and delivered to class at lunch time.
*No Friday 10th class due to Public Holiday.
