Saturday 4th May – Saturday 25th May

Local artist Andrew Hoskins will be exhibiting his most recent works. Watercolour and charcoal plein air works, that explore the depth and beauty of the nature that surrounds us all.

Nightmare Songs [ The Skepticism of Pathos ] is an Exhibition of new works by visual artist Maggie Covell.

This new body of work looks at how the subconscious mind gives us cues during the state of sleep through dreams. Pathos in this instance is used as a communication device between artist and viewer and asks can our reaction to image/s ever be valid? Pathos is also explored through a series of interactive activities which invites the viewer to become the artist. The works experiment with repetition, colour + sound while using Victorian illustrative + Ukiyo-e woodblock techniques in a contemporary approach.
Feat. soundscape/installation in collaboration with Katikati based composer/musician Chris Miller.

Every year over 23,000 people are part of what happens here at The Arts Village, as a non-profit we have to budget very carefully and prioritise our spending. We can’t always get what we want, or even what we need , but maybe together we can get a bit closer.

Wishlist is a pop-up fundraising show highlighting some of our material needs as a non-profit community organisation. We invite you to have a look at our wishlist, and (if you are in a position to do so) to become a micro-patron; helping us check a few things off our list.
