On until Saturday 25th May, Exhibition: The Art of Remembering – Te Pū o Mahara, Join us to view this engaging exhibition hosted in both galleries and produced and curated by the Rotorua Museum. Open to view during The Arts Village opening hours Monday to Friday 9am to 4.30pm and Saturdays 10am to 4pm. As part of the 100 year commemorations of World War One, Rotorua high school students have been given the opportunity to win some great prizes by creating visual art based on the story of a Rotorua person who served in the Great War. Students will select someone from a list of researched people and be asked to interpret an aspect of their story through one of seven visual art mediums (painting, print making, sculpture, moving image, photography, digital or mixed media). Works by students who are in Year 9 – Year 13 in the 2018 school year and attend schools within the Rotorua District. Prizes are generously donated by Ngāti Whakaue Education Endowment Trust.
